Código de Ética e Responsabilidade

Code of Ethics and Responsibility

1. General Principles

The Insigne Journal of Humanities is committed to promoting academic excellence and integrity in all its publications. All those involved in the production, review, and dissemination of content must act in accordance with ethical standards.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

2.1. Impartiality and Integrity
Editors must evaluate works solely based on their academic merit, relevance, and originality, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political ideology of the authors.

2.2. Confidentiality
Editors must ensure the confidentiality of submitted works and not disclose any information about manuscripts to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, and associate editors.

2.3. Conflict of Interest
Editors must refrain from evaluating manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions related to the manuscripts.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

3.1. Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents. They should not be shown to or discussed with others, except as authorized by the editor.

3.2. Objectivity and Clarity
Reviewers must conduct the review objectively and constructively, providing clear and well-founded feedback to help authors improve their work.

3.3. Recognition of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published work of which they are aware should also be reported to the editor.

3.4. Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must refrain from evaluating manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions related to the manuscripts.

4. Responsibilities of Authors

4.1. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is original and that any work or words of other authors, contributions, or sources have been properly cited.

4.2. Multiple, Redundant, or Simultaneous Publication
Authors should not publish works that essentially describe the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

4.3. Recognition of Sources
Authors must always properly acknowledge the work of others. They should cite publications that have influenced the nature of the reported work.

4.4. Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Others who have participated in certain substantial aspects of the research project should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.

4.5. Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, it is the author's obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the manuscript.

5. Procedures for Identifying Unethical Conduct

5.1. Identification of Unethical Behavior
Unethical behavior can be identified and brought to the attention of the editor and publisher at any time by anyone. This should include sufficient information and evidence to initiate an investigation.

5.2. Investigations
All reports of unethical behavior must be treated with due consideration and processed appropriately. The editor, in consultation with the publisher, must make the necessary decisions.

5.3. Actions
Actions to be taken against authors, reviewers, or editors who violate this code may include, but are not limited to: formal notification of misconduct, rejection of works, prohibition of further submissions, communication with the institutions or employers of those involved, and retraction or correction of publications.

6. Copyright and Access

6.1. Copyright
Authors retain the copyright of their works and grant the Insigne Journal of Humanities the right of first publication, simultaneously licensing the work under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with acknowledgment of authorship and initial publication in this journal.

6.2. Open Access
The Insigne Journal of Humanities provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public promotes greater global democratization of knowledge.

7. Declaration of Ethics and Good Publishing Practices

The Insigne Journal of Humanities is committed to following and promoting the principles and practices established by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and other international guidelines for good publishing practices.

This Code of Ethics and Responsibility is an integral part of the mission of the Insigne Journal of Humanities to maintain standards of academic integrity and ethical responsibility in all its activities.
