4. Detection Procedures
4.1. Submission
All manuscripts submitted to the Revista Insigne de Humanidades must go through a prior originality analysis using Copyspider. This analysis is carried out before the manuscripts are sent for peer review.
4.2. Copyspider Analysis
Copyspider compares the manuscript against a wide database, including published works, journals, dissertations, theses, and other online sources. The software generates a detailed report on the percentage of similarity in the submitted text.
4.3. Acceptable Similarity Limits
The journal considers up to 10% similarity with other publications acceptable, provided the sources are properly cited. Similarities above this threshold will be carefully reviewed by the editorial team.
5. Actions in Cases of Plagiarism Detection
5.1. Levels of Action
- Similarity less than 10%: The manuscript will be considered original, and the editorial process will proceed normally.
- Similarity between 10% and 30%: The manuscript will be reviewed in detail to verify if the similarities are due to proper use of citations and references. If unintentional plagiarism (improper use of sources) is detected, the authors will be notified and asked to revise the text.
- Similarity above 30%: The manuscript will be immediately rejected due to plagiarism, and the authors will be notified. Depending on the severity, the case may be reported to the authors' affiliated institutions.
5.2. Immediate Rejection
Manuscripts showing serious plagiarism, including direct copying of large sections without citation, self-plagiarism of previous publications, or use of unverified sources, will be summarily rejected, and the authors will be notified of the decision.
6. Revision and Resubmission
If the manuscript shows similarity levels that allow for corrections (between 10% and 30%), the authors may revise the work and resubmit the corrected version for further evaluation by Copyspider.
7. Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for the originality of the submitted texts and for ensuring that all sources used in the work are properly cited. By submitting the manuscript to the Revista Insigne de Humanidades, authors agree to the plagiarism verification and to the guidelines established in this policy.
