This article aims to analyze the legal and regulatory situation regarding the criminal liability of legal entities in cases of adulteration of alcoholic beverages with methanol, in light of high-profile incidents that occurred in 2025, which resulted in serious damage to consumers' health, including deaths. The research examines the legal grounds applicable to the criminal liability of the companies involved, as well as doctrinal and jurisprudential controversies regarding the criminal prosecution of legal entities in the Brazilian legal system. In addition, the study seeks to reflect on the effectiveness of the criminal justice system in preventing and repressing conduct that threatens public health, highlighting the need to improve oversight and control mechanisms.
